Reflection:
The Work Experience Education online course syllabus above is a combination of the past course outline, additions from Leading Edge, such as the ADA Compliance, Academic Integrity, Online Interaction, and Technical Requirements, along with future plans involving the new LMS OUHSD will be implementing are included. Academic integrity is one of the necessary additions I've included in the past by simply referring to the OUHSD Internet Use Policy all students and parents sign. Going through the list of violations with students will further emphasize the importance of avoiding unethical behavior. It will be interesting to guide students in the use of online interactions as many students have had no exposure to online curriculum. Including interaction rules is so important as many students will test the boundaries in this new learning environment. I've added Technical Requirements, although not sure if they are necessary in today's environment. My students have proven either saavy enough to download any necessary components they need for their home computers or a student without a computer at home spending the time in a computer lab on updated school or library computers. In the coming months, I expect a lot of trial and error to perfect the online learning experience for myself and my students but look forward to the challenge and experience using the wonderful Web 2.0 tools created by so many caring educators and technology professionals.
